Student Credit Card Reviews
Anyone who has been through college can relate to the incalculable number of university enrollees out there vehemently working to manage their finances. Unfortunately, many college students aren’t aware of the options they have in student credit cards, which are essentially designed just for them.
We know what comes to mind when you hear the phrase ‘student credit cards.’ You may be envisioning a drab piece of plastic without any special perks, rewards or cash-back bonuses attached. But before you fall prey to common thought, consider one of the many credit cards that include these benefits.
StarReviews.com discovered one student credit card, the Discover Student Monogram Card, which gives cardholders the chance to earn 5-percent cash back on qualifying purchases, as well as the opportunity to double rewards when credits are used at partner merchant stores. Target and Circuit City, anyone?
Discover isn’t the only card issuer recognizing the needs of those out there in academia. The Chase Student Flexible Rewards Card doesn’t charge an annual fee while giving cardholders a point for every dollar spent with the card. Rack up a good amount of points? Students can trade them in for lattes at Starbucks or redeem all kinds of goods through popular retailers like Best Buy and Blockbuster.
Student credit cards not only assist college students with building their credit ratings, they offer infinite possibilities with cash back or rewards programs. Although nearly 2/3 of college students carry some kind of debt, credit cards designed specifically for them can make a huge difference. You may receive a limited credit line and might be asked to produce evidence of non-delinquent accounts, but when used wisely, these credit cards will be worthwhile.
